AND MORE!
THE IMPACT OF THE OCEAN CLEANUP 2024
In 2024, The Ocean Cleanup has made significant strides, successfully retrieving over 165 metric tonnes of oceanic debris. Additionally, its interceptors have efficiently harvested approximately 900 metric tonnes from river systems. This proactive approach continues to prevent the deterioration of plastics into hazardous microplastics by collecting the material while it remains in larger forms.
The organization remains committed to its goal of removing 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040.

THE IMPACT OF SAVING THE BLUE 2024
In 2024, Saving the Blue has made significant strides in shark conservation. This year, the organization successfully tagged four female Silky Sharks, adding valuable data to their research. Additionally, they installed a new Acoustic Receiver in the Indian Ocean, which will operate for the next ten months. This advanced equipment, located at a depth of 90 feet, will help monitor the movements of tagged sharks and contribute crucial information to the ongoing efforts to protect these species
In October of 2022, our collaboration with Saving the Blue saw us actively contributing to the cause of shark conservation. Through the generous support of our customers, we achieved a remarkable feat - the successful tagging of two female Silky Sharks.
We named them Tina Fin & Sophie Tuna!
As part of Saving the Blue's ongoing efforts to study and safeguard Silky Sharks, we took a significant step forward. In November 2022, we sponsored the deployment of a new cutting-edge Acoustic Receiver, essentially a listening station, in the pristine waters of The Bahamas.
Stationed at a depth of 80 feet beneath the ocean's surface, this Listening Station will remain in position for the next eight months. Its purpose? To diligently gather crucial data regarding the movements of tagged sharks that traverse its vicinity.
As time unfolds and our understanding deepens, we eagerly anticipate sharing another update in the coming months. This remarkable initiative stands as a testament to our commitment to the exploration and preservation of these captivating creatures beneath the waves.

THE IMPACT OF CORAL CONSERVATION
Reefscapers is a leading marine consultancy company dedicated to restoring coral reefs in the Maldives since 2005. Utilizing a pioneering coral frame technique, they significantly increase coral cover and enhance the biodiversity of coral reefs, making their program one of the most successful marine conservation efforts globally.
Their innovative approach involves attaching coral fragments to specially designed metal frames, which are then placed on the seabed. This method not only promotes rapid coral growth but also provides a stable structure for marine life to thrive. Over the years, Reefscapers has planted thousands of coral frames, leading to the rejuvenation of vast reef areas that had been previously damaged.
